Looking forward to another week of insightful discussions. Feel free to jump into the conversations and share your experiences.

For “thermal vs low-light” at night, on rural Ohio stakeouts I use a handheld thermal just to find the subject, then switch to a low-light camcorder for the actual ID when a passing car or porch light gives enough ambient. Thermal’s great for spotting through brush, but it won’t give you plates or expressions and HVAC exhaust can throw false hits, so don’t rely on it for documentation.
