Database roulette: one login or five

TLO/Accurint/Tracers keep nudging prices up, and I’m stuck choosing between one solid portal with cleaner hits/exports or piecing together four cheaper OSINT subs + county portals and bleeding hours to rate limits, stale addresses, and busted CSV mapping. If one more “update” breaks my export presets mid-search, I’m going to lose it. What’s saving you time or money right now?

Single login won for me: I switched to Tracers with Batch + scheduled SFTP of a custom report, which stopped the export preset breakage and saved enough hours to cover the price bump. I post-process addresses with NCOA/CASS via Smarty to kill the stale ones and only touch county portals when the batch flags a mismatch - if you’re stuck on CSVs, ask your rep to enable SFTP so UI updates can’t wreck your mapping.

I killed the export-preset chaos by piping a saved report to SFTP and running a tiny header normalizer before it lands in my case DB — one schema map and I don’t care what the vendor renames next; tbh that made “one login” viable for me. @sofia_ben7035 do you have SFTP or API on your plan?

One login worked only after I stopped trusting UI exports — treat their “updates” like weather and pull via the API in JSON, map to your schema, then let a nightly deduper score address recency before it hits cases. If API isn’t in your tier, a tiny header shim that drops/renames unknown columns keeps you sane. Is your bigger time sink the re-mapping or chasing stale addresses?

I piggybacked on @dolphin63’s API angle but added a cost gate: two quick OSINT passes, then auto-escalate the stubborn subjects to Tracers via API with a spend tag — like sending only the tough cases to the pricey specialist. Also set address-watch alerts so you get deltas instead of re-pulling full reports; do you track wins by hit rate or minutes saved?
